PORT ORANGE – Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services announced the sale of CVS/Pharmacy, a 10,885sf single-tenant net-leased property in Port Orange, according to Bryn D. Merrey, vice president and regional manager of the firm’s Tampa office. The asset commanded a sales price of $2,780,000.

First-time home buyers face competition in market

Q: I am highly disappointed with the resale market. It looks like we are slowly heading toward the dreaded bidding wars again. My daughter and son-in-law are first-time buyers (or, lack thereof, I should say) in Henderson. They looked at dozens of townhomes only to get discouraging news a few days later because the banks are letting people submit multiple offers. What ever happened to taking the first offer and perhaps one backup offer like back in the day? My daughter put an offer on a home in September and paid for an appraisal and inspection. She asked the bank to pay for her closing costs. They agreed. Pima foreclosure notices continued to decline in Nov.

The number of Tucson-area property owners who received foreclosure notices in November continued to decline compared with the same period last year.

Last month, 754 borrowers got notice that their loans were in default and their property had been scheduled for auction, numbers from the Pima County Recorder’s Office show. That’s down from the 829 notices issued in November 2010. It’s also down from the 816 notices issued in October.

The total number of foreclosure notices issued is on pace to be lower this year than for the last two years. In 2010, 11,663 property owners received the notices, and in 2009, 12,184 borrowers received them.
